Who we are
Founded in 2019 by Cynthia Owembabazi, KIYODEL (Kihorobo Youth Development Link) is a non-profit organization, officially registered in Uganda with a sister organisation in Belgium.
KIYODEL is dedicated to supporting the most vulnerable young boys and girls living in poverty in rural areas of Rwoho Town Council and Ntungamo District, Uganda.
We focus on empowering youth through skills training, innovation, and socio-economic development, giving them the tools they need to build independent and sustainable future.
At KIYODEL, we believe that every young person deserves the chance to realize their full potential.

Our mission
To prevent child marriage and break the cycle of poverty by expanding access to quality education and empowering vulnerable young people-especially girls-with practical skills, digital & financial literacy, and safe learning environments. Through vocational training, mentorship, gender-equality initiatives, community engagement, and sustainable development programs, we equip young people with the knowledge, confidence, and opportunities they need to learn, thrive, and build resilient futures.
Our Strategic Objectives
1. Expand Access to Inclusive, Safe, and Quality Education for Vulnerable Young girls and boys.
KIYODEL will increase enrollment, retention, and completion of vulnerable young girls and boys especially those at high risk of early marriage by expanding our outreach & community engagements, safe learning environment, ICT literacy, Financial Literacy, menstrual health initiatives and livelihood programs.
Target: Reach at least 5,000 young girls and boys over the next 10 years, reduce school dropout rates among girls by 40%.
2. Strengthen Skills, Economic Empowerment, and Climate-Resilient Livelihood Pathways of vulnerable young girls and boys.
KIYODEL will scale high-quality vocational, digital, financial literacy, and green-skills training (including solar installation, eco-sanitation, and climate-smart agriculture) to equip young people with employable skills and environmental readiness.
Target: Ensure 70% of program graduates secure employment, start a micro-enterprise, or generate sustainable income.
3. KIYODEL will strengthen its governance, monitoring and evaluation (M&E), fundraising systems, and global/local partnerships to increase organizational sustainability, accountability, and donor confidence.
Target: Increase annual resource mobilization by 50%, establish an integrated M&E system to track progress toward SDGs, and expand partnerships with 10+ government, private-sector, and international organizations to amplify impact.
Our objectives
Our aim is to empower and inspire vulnerable young boys and girls in Uganda to acquire the skills and confidence they need to become self-reliant and independent adults.
We seek to support young people in their personal and professional growth through socio-economic empowerment, while actively defending their rights and interests.
A key part of our mission is to end child marriages and ensure that every young person especially girls can have an opportunity to learn, grow, and build a brighter future.
