At KIYODEL, every milestone represents hope, growth, and transformation within our community. Thanks to the support of our partners, donors, and volunteers, we continue to make meaningful progress toward empowering vulnerable youth in Rwoho, Ntungamo District, and surrounding regions.
success stories
Here are some of the achievements and updates that reflect our ongoing journey.
Construction of Skills Training Center Classrooms
We successfully built safe, inspiring classrooms for our Skills Training Center, offering young people a comfortable environment to learn practical, life-changing skills. These classrooms form the foundation of our mission to nurture confidence, creativity, and self-reliance.
Eco-Friendly Sanitary Facilities Established
To ensure dignity, hygiene, and sustainability, we constructed ecological sanitary facilities for both students and staff. These biodigester toilets reduce waste, promote environmental protection, and create a healthier learning environment for all.
Access to Clean Water Improved
Access to clean drinking water has long been a challenge in our community. KIYODEL addressed this need by drilling a natural water source and installing a reliable water system. Today, students and surrounding families benefit from safe drinking water that promotes health and supports consistent learning.
Eco-Kitchen System Implemented
We introduced an environmentally friendly eco-kitchen that provides nutritious meals for students while reducing smoke, waste, and harmful emissions. This sustainable cooking solution also serves as a learning model for our youth, promoting eco-conscious living.
Launch of Skills Training Program
A major milestone was the successful launch of our Skills Training Program, offering hands-on training to underprivileged youth. This initiative empowers boys and girls with practical skills that open doors to employment, entrepreneurship, and long-term independence.
Solar Power System Installed
Our center now operates entirely on clean, renewable solar energy. This achievement not only reduces operational costs but also provides students with hands-on learning opportunities in solar installation and maintenance, which is a growing field in Uganda and beyond.
Kiyodel on sustainable development goals (sdg’s)
At KIYODEL Skills Training Center, our projects are designed to empower youth, strengthen communities, and protect the environment, aligning closely with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
SDG 4: Quality Education
By providing vocational skills training, we give young people a future perspective, increase their employment opportunities, and enable them to support themselves through meaningful work.
SDG 5: Gender Equality
Our programs ensure equal access to training for both boys and girls, promoting equal opportunities and empowering young women to achieve their full potential.
SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation
KIYODEL provides safe drinking water at the skilling center for students and surrounding families. We also use eco-friendly biodigester toilets, offering a sustainable solution for waste management and improved hygiene.
SDG 7: Affordable and Clean Energy
KIYODEL is 100% powered by solar energy, eliminating dependence on fossil fuels and minimizing environmental impact. This sustainable energy system lowers energy costs and contributes to a greener future for the community.
In addition, students gain hands-on experience with solar installation and maintenance, equipping them with practical skills for future employment and entrepreneurship in the renewable energy sector.
SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
By learning practical skills, young people can find employment or start their own businesses, fostering economic growth and improving livelihoods in the region.
SDG 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure
The infrastructure we build is modern and sustainable, and the activities at the training center stimulate local development and innovation.
SDG 13: Climate Action
We integrate sustainable and environmentally friendly practices into all our projects. The use of biodigester toilets and our ecological kitchen system improves sanitation, provides nutritious meals for students, reduces waste, and lowers harmful gas emissions helping to conserve natural resources and protect the environment.
