Sponsorship Policy

At KIYODEL, we believe that every young person deserves the opportunity to realize their full potential. Through our Sponsorship Program, we connect individuals, families, and organizations with youth in need of support, providing them with the resources and opportunities to build brighter, more independent futures.

This Sponsorship Policy outlines the purpose, expectations, and responsibilities of all parties involved in our sponsorship program.

1. Purpose of Sponsorship

The primary goal of the KIYODEL Sponsorship Program is to provide vulnerable youth in Uganda with access to education, vocational training, and life skills development. Sponsorship allows us to support youth who are unable to continue their education or pursue vocational training due to financial barriers.

Through sponsorship, we aim to:

  • Prevent early marriages by offering girls a chance to stay in school and build a future.
  • Reduce poverty by equipping youth with practical skills that enable them to become self-reliant.
  • Empower youth to take control of their futures, break cycles of disadvantage, and contribute to their communities.

2. How Sponsorship Works

Sponsorship is designed to provide financial support for youth who need it the most. The funds raised through sponsorship cover a range of essential needs, including:

  • Tuition fees for vocational training programs
  • School supplies (books, uniforms, etc.)
  • Meal plans for students who may otherwise go without
  • Transportation costs for those living in remote areas

Sponsorship allows KIYODEL to provide these young people with the tools they need to succeed without the burden of financial constraints holding them back.

3. Types of Sponsorship

There are several ways to engage with the sponsorship program, each with varying levels of support:

Individual Sponsorship:

Sponsor a single youth to cover their training, meals, and educational materials.

  • €20/month: Covers tuition fees for one student.
  • €25/month: Covers tuition fees plus study materials.
  • €30/month: Covers tuition, materials, and meals for one student.

Group Sponsorship:

  • A group of individuals or an organization can come together to sponsor multiple youth, sharing the cost and impact.
  • Group sponsorship can also support community-wide projects such as school supplies or facility upgrades.

4. Responsibilities of the Sponsor

By becoming a sponsor, you play an essential role in the future of a young person. As a sponsor, you are expected to:

  • Make regular payments as per the sponsorship agreement.
  • Communicate with KIYODEL to receive updates about the sponsored youth’s progress, including success stories and challenges faced.
  • Respect the privacy of the youth and their families, while maintaining a supportive relationship.
  • Encourage the youth by sending positive messages or participating in special events (optional but encouraged).

Sponsors may receive updates, photos, and progress reports from the youth they sponsor, ensuring a personal connection to their impact.

5. Responsibilities of KIYODEL

We are committed to ensuring that every sponsor’s contribution has a meaningful and lasting impact. Our responsibilities include:

  • Careful selection and monitoring of sponsored youth to ensure that funds are being used appropriately.
  • Providing regular updates on the progress of the sponsored youth, including photos, stories, and milestones.
  • Managing the funds responsibly to ensure that sponsorship contributions directly benefit the youth and their education.
  • Ensuring that the youth are supported, with guidance from mentors, trainers, and community leaders to help them succeed.

6. Sponsorship Benefits

As a sponsor, you can expect:

  • Impactful involvement: Your support directly contributes to a young person’s education and future.
  • Transparency and accountability: Regular updates and clear information on how your funds are being used.
  • Connection with the youth: Sponsors can communicate with the youth they support and celebrate their progress.
  • Personal satisfaction: Knowing you are helping to change the life of a young person and empowering them to build a better future.

7. Sponsorship Terms & Conditions

Duration of Sponsorship:

Sponsorships typically last for one year, but we encourage long-term commitments to ensure continuous support for the youth’s journey. Sponsors are informed ahead of time when a sponsorship term is nearing its end.

Termination of Sponsorship:

Sponsors can cancel their sponsorship at any time with written notice. If a sponsor chooses to end their commitment, we kindly request that they give us at least one month’s notice so we can find an alternative sponsor or make arrangements for the youth.

If a sponsored youth decides to leave the program (due to personal or academic reasons), KIYODEL will notify the sponsor and offer options for continuing support for another youth.

8. Get Involved Beyond Sponsorship

While financial support is crucial, there are other ways to make a difference:

  • Volunteering: Lend your time and skills to support KIYODEL’s programs and youth.
  • Partnerships: Collaborate with us to enhance the opportunities available for youth.
  • Spread the word: Help us raise awareness about the needs of vulnerable youth in Uganda.
